My Story

In 2019, I founded the Atlanta chapter of Radical Adventure Riders (RAR) with the goal of making cycling and outdoor adventures more accessible to everyone. As a co-manager of 20+ RAR chapters worldwide, I’m dedicated to fostering a welcoming and equitable community for all.

My journey began as a bike commuter in 2011, and my first bikepacking trip in 2018 ignited a passion for outdoor exploration. Since then, I've bikepacked across the US and internationally. I've also had the privilege of working with incredible brands on various projects, from video and photo shoots to product modeling.

I'm committed to using my skills and experiences to make a positive impact on the world. Whether it's organizing events, leading workshops, or simply inspiring others to get outside, I'm always striving to create a more inclusive and equitable future.

Hi, I'm Devin!

My name is Devin Cowens (she/her), and I live on the ancestral lands of the Muscogee Creek Nation—now known as Atlanta, Georgia. I focus my work on creating space, expanding opportunities, and directing resources toward BIPOC and queer communities, particularly in outdoor environments.

By day, I’m an event planner and grants consultant; by night, a community organizer and connector of people. I’m the founder and co-organizer of the Atlanta chapter of Radical Adventure Riders (RAR), launched in 2019, and formerly co-managed 20 RAR chapters across the U.S. and Australia. RAR works to make cycling and outdoor adventure spaces more inclusive by advancing gender diversity and racial equity—centering BIPOC, queer, trans, and nonbinary riders.

Most recently, I co-founded Radical Run Crew, a social and inclusive running club created for queer, BIPOC, and trans and gender nonconforming individuals.

I’m passionate about building community and creating change through nature, cycling, running, birding, and cycling. My background spans community strategy and design, partnership development, event and program management, and content and community platforms.
